Nine people have lost their jobs after high street clothing store Internacionale announced it will be closing its doors on Friday.
The loss-making fashion chain was recently sold as a going concern by administrators.A new company was set up to purchase the majority of the stores, safeguarding 1,500 jobs in the process, the Island’s shop however was one of a handful which didn’t make the cut.
The booming popularity of online shopping has been cited as the main reason of the company’s downturn.
The closure will leave a prime location site dormant in Strand Street.
Management from the store were unavailable for further comment.
