 
                            'Clinical Navigators' will be placed within the Emergency Services Joint Control Room (ESJCR) to help determine whether an ambulance is needed.
The experienced clinicians will speak to those who call 999 to ensure the appropriate level of treatment is given at home or in a clinical setting.
It comes following feedback from the Care Quality Commission about the lack of clinical resource within the ESJCR.
Manx Care says typically an ambulance is sent to every ambulance 999 call, with patients with non-urgent issues frequently being seen by a paramedic whose skills could be used elsewhere.
