It's been confirmed that the Claddagh's campsite will open with permitted overnight stays from 1st May.
A lengthy consultation period has been ongoing, with the Department still reviewing responses and proposals from potential partners, before they determine the long term options.
For 2024 the camping operation will once again be run by Ballamoar, an experienced local provider who also runs a neighboring campsite, and stepped in to secure it's operation last year when it looked as though it would be closed to the public.
News of it's continued operation this year will come as a great relief for TT visitors and nearby businesses who would see a large amount of business during the summer months generated by campsite custom.
The site will be available all day during the May to September season for picnics and recreation, and people can book to camp overnight and use the basic facilities.
