A drink-driver who crashed his car on the way home from a works Christmas party will be sentenced next month.
Andrew Joseph Gray of Ellenbrook Drive in Kewaigue appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 52-year-old admitted drink-driving on December 4.
The court heard he'd been drinking beer and wine at the Best Western Palace Hotel and Casino on Douglas Promenade before getting behind the wheel of his Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck just after midnight.
He crashed the truck on Leigh Terrace in Douglas but managed to drive off before abandoning the vehicle at the Kewaigue Dip on the Old Castletown Road - police later arrested him nearby.
At police headquarters, he turned out to be twice the legal alcohol limit.
He was bailed in the sum of £500 on condition he doesn't drive, and will appear in court again for sentencing on February 15.
