A rabbit is for life, not just for Christmas says the Manx SPCA.
Juana Warburton from the charity says it's not just dogs and cats that are bought as a Christmas gift and often forgotten about.
She says it's mostly rabbits bought on impulse on the Island as a 'cute and cuddly' pet for children.
However, she is warning people they're high maintenance pets that need daily care, and on average live for ten years - so, they shouldn't be an easy purchase but a lifetime commitment.
