Parents Urged To Attend Public Meeting
Parents in the West of the Island are being urged to attend a public meeting this week which highlights online bullying.
Incidents of bullying on the internet have increased over the last year, research shows 1 in 3 children is a victim of harassment online.
The information evening, which takes place at QE2 school on Thursday 4th November, will provide practical workshops for parents around the issues of Facebook, safe mobile phone use, cyber-bullying and the law and examining the emotional effects of cyber-bullying.
The police, Manx Telecom and teachers will be leading the sessions.
Assistant Headteacher at Queen Elizabeth II High School Joanne White told 3FM it's important they everybody works together to keep children safe.
Space at the information evening is limited and places will be offered on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to attend, please contact the school on 841000 to reserve a place or send a letter in with your child.
