A 15 year old boy has been warned by magistrates about his behaviour after being convicted of his second public order offence in just three months.
The boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where he admitted disorderly behaviour.
The hearing was told at around 4pm on March 27 he’d been spotted in the company of a 19 year old woman on Bucks Road in Douglas.
Prosecutor Barry Swain said officers were concerned because the woman plied young people with alcohol and cigarettes.
But when they tried to take the boy into custody for his own safety, he began swearing and threatened to strangle and stab an officer.
The teenager, who’s currently in care, also admitted breaching a conditional discharge imposed in January for an identical offence.
Magistrates adjourned the case for reports, telling him he needed to grow up and that his behaviour had been unacceptable.
He was bailed on condition he doesn’t contact the 19 year old woman, and will appear for sentencing on May 1.
