Chief Minister Alf Cannan says an efficiency programme has already saved government £4 million out of its total budget of around £1.5 billion.
In Tynwald this week, Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper asked about the amount of money the Efficiencies Programme had actually saved.
Previous reports said up to £50 million in savings had been identified over the next five years.
Mr Cannan said the programme's annual report would be out at the end of this month:
