Chief Minister: 'No need for elderly champion'

Chief Minister Howard Quayle says the Isle of Man doesn't need a champion for the elderly.

He was asked by Onchan MHK Rob Callister in the House of Keys yesterday if he has any plans to appoint a representative for the older people.

In response, Mr Quayle said the Council of Ministers doesn't think such a post is needed.

He also said younger people need more representation than the elderly as they can't make choices for themselves.
