The external review of Noble's Hospital is set to get under way in September following months of concern over the health service.
The audit was sparked by a letter from a group of senior clinicians that highlighted serious failings in patient care and services at the hospital.
Health Minister David Anderson faced heavy criticism from his Tynwald colleagues.
Chief Minister Allan Bell says he hopes the findings of the audit will deliver some clarity to the Manx public:
