Chief Minister Gives Agriculture Higher Standing in Reshuffle Plans Following Initial Uproar
The Manx National Farmers’ Union has applauded the Chief Minister following his decision to incorporate Agriculture in a more prominent position as part of his Government reshuffle.
There had been uproar originally when the Department of Agriculture was seemingly demoted to Community, Culture and Leisure.
The Manx farming community made their voices heard on the matter saying it would be severely detrimental to the future of Agriculture on the Island and Manx Food production.
The Chief Minister will be taking his reshuffle plans to Tynwald this week.
The new Department will be called Environment, Food and Agriculture.
