Chief Minister, Howard Quayle MHK, says everyone must make changes to daily lives to lower the use of single use plastics.
It comes after details were announced of the governments new Single Use Plastic Plan which went before Tynwald earlier this month.
Mr Quayle went on to say the proposals alone could save around 630 tonnes of plastic and nearly 3,800 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
The plan aims to ban certain single use items, reduce the amount of plastics getting into the sea and waterways and help support the Island's carbon emissions targets.
