Charity urges people to take up heart screening

An Island charity which screens people for life threatening heart defects is urging more people to come forward.

Craig's Heartstrong Foundation runs two free heart screening programmes each year for people aged between 14 and 35.

There are still a number of spaces left over the two day event which is taking place at the Sefton Hotel on August 24th and 25th.

It's an initiative set up in memory of 25-year-old footballer Craig Lunt who died in his sleep in 2005 from an undiagnosed heart problem.

Chairman of the charity Paul Healey says a screening like this would have saved his life:
