Manx Wild Bird Aid has welcomed its first 'patient' of the year.
The charity has come to the aid of an injured starling, which was attacked by a cat.
The female bird was found in a garden unable to fly, with 'typical' cat wounds - small punctures, a ruptured air sac, damaged leg and a lot of bruising and swelling.
The charity adds she must think Spring is on the way because her beak is already changing from black to yellow - starlings have a yellow beak during the breeding season and a black beak over winter.
It comes after the charity also rescued starling found trapped inside a chimney earlier this week.
