An Island animal charity has defended putting muzzles on dogs, after hearing people were getting negative comments for the practice.
The ManxSPCA says it's disheartening to hear the criticisms because having dogs wear muzzles shows owners are responsible people who prioritise safety and comfort for others.
On Facebook, it says muzzles can prevent dogs eating things they shouldn't, and manage their anxiety as well as increasing safety for people around them.
And it adds muzzled dogs deserve love and respect, along with their responsible owners.
