A local charity is addressing the growing trend of releasing terrapins into the wild.
It comes following two of the creatures being found at Scarlett Quarry.
In a post on social media, Manx Wildlife Trust says this could be because the pets are oversized or unwanted, which leads to people releasing them into local ponds and waterways.
It's caused concern for the organisation, which says it can have a negative impact on native wildlife and also cause stress and suffering for the creatures.
If you see a terrapin in the wild, you're asked to report its location to DEFA and Vannin Reptilia.
