A local charity is asking people to keep their eyes peeled for signs of oil along the Manx coastline.
It comes as more than 500 barrels of crude oil leaked from a cracked pipeline in the Irish sea on Tuesday.
The spill seems to be moving towards the English coast - and is predicted to reach Formy and Fleetwood later this week.
While the impact of the pipeline leak is still unclear, an oil spill of any size poses a risk to seabirds and other marine wildlife.
With the winds shifting over the next couple of days there could be a chance of oil washing towards the Isle of Man.
The Manx Wildlife Trust is asking people to look out for any oiled birds on beaches.
You're asked to contact DEFA if you find a dead oiled bird or the Manx Wild Bird Aid or the ManxSPCA if you find a bird in need.
