Charges against a woman accused of assaulting a prison officer have been dropped after a court heard she’d already been punished in jail.
Rosemary Ellen Burgess, whose address was given as the Isle of Man prison, was excused appearing before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 20 year old had been accused of carrying out the attack on January 5, but the bench heard she’d been dealt with through the prison’s own disciplinary system.
Magistrates marked the charge withdrawn.
