The chief executive of the Chamber of Commerce has outlined the problems of a proposed major new wind farm construction in the Irish Sea.
Members of the Chamber, from a number of different business sectors, met with Centrica, and developer Dong, to discuss the proposals in more detail recently. 
Centrica was awarded exclusive rights to develop wind farms within the Irish Sea zone in January 2010. Its boundary is just 12 miles from the Isle of Man.
Concerns have already been raised about interference with shipping lanes – something which Mike Hennessey agrees with:
