Mark Cavendish secured his first stage victory of 2011 over the weekend in the Tour of Oman.

Mark Cavendish secured his first stage victory of 2011 over the weekend in the Tour of Oman.

He held off until the final stage of the tour to take the win marking a positive end to the event following two poor races in Australia and Qatar.

Reports from the worlds cycling press said there were glimpses of Cav at his best during this tour.

In the post race conference Cavendish praised his HTC teammates for looking after him in the closing stages of the race.
