Cavendish on the brink of making history in Paris

Will Cav do enough to secure the Green Jersey?

It's the final day of the Tour de France with Manxman Mark Cavendish poised to make history if he triumphs in the Champs Elysees in Paris.

A win would be significant for two reasons, firstly it would secure him the Green Jersey making him the first Great Briton winner in 27 years, secondly it would complete a hat-trick of consecutive finale wins for Cav, something that hasn't been achieved before.

He's struggled to hold onto his points lead over the last few stages as they tackled the tough mountain stages, but he's still emerged with a 15 point lead.

If he wins today it would be his 5th stage win of this tour, and the 20th of his career.

With 65 points on offer today the pressure is on Cav not the slip up, however he told 3FM that he won't be letting the pressure get to him, saying he'll just be focussing on the win.

The 26 year old told 3FM him and his team hoping for the stage win today. (audio above)
