The Fire and Rescue Service says an incident which closed a Douglas road for more than eight hours yesterday involved three potentially dangerous chemicals.
Ballafletcher Road was shut at lunchtime and reopened at around 10.30pm after the incident near the Vehicle Testing Centre.
Residents in Douglas were asked to stay inside with windows and doors closed as a precautionary measure.
Firefighters say corrosive potassium borate, hydrogen peroxide and sodium hydroxide were all involved - leading to concerns about chemical reactions if thy leaked from their containers and mixed.
