A man from the south of the Island will appear in court again next month after denying a charge of causing actual bodily harm.
Michael Gregory Frank Ashton of College View appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He'd previously pleaded not guilty to the assault, which is said to have taken place on March 30.
There was no application for bail and magistrates remanded 34 year old Mr Ashton in custody.
He'll appear again on May 16 via a live video link from Jurby jail.
