Castletown commissioner Richard McAleer has announced he'll be standing as an MHK at this year's General Election.
He's declared as an independent candidate for the new constituency of Arbory, Castletown and Malew ahead of September's vote.
The 46-year-old believes the Island needs a new generation of politicians and says if elected he'll 'work tirelessly' to ensure essential services are protected and 'taxpayers' cash is spent responsibly.
