Police are urging motorists to ensure any loads they're carrying are safe and secure.
It follows an incident on Tuesday afternoon where pieces of stone, being transported by a large wagon, were lost travelling between Ballasalla and Santon.
One of the stones damaged a vehicle which was following the wagon - officers say the driver had to take 'swift evasive action' and his car is now 'off the road as a result'.
Police say motorists who lose objects could end up injuring someone, causing heartache, extra expense and a trip to court.
