A man from the south of the Island who crashed his car into a wall but didn’t report it to police will be sentenced in June.
At Douglas Courthouse, David John Lawrence Carter of Ballafodda Farm in Ronague admitted driving without due care and attention and failing to report an accident.
A further charge of failing to stop after a crash was withdrawn by prosecutor Roger Kane.
Magistrates heard the 36 year old had crashed his Ford Ranger into a stone wall and telegraph pole in Old School Road in Rushen at around 2.30pm on January 26.
He managed to drive his car to a nearby car park and leave it there, where police later found it.
The court heard in total, he’d caused £757 damage to the wall and pole and Manx Utilities had applied for compensation.
Magistrates adjourned the case until June 27 and bailed Carter to appear on that date.
