Douglas Borough Council is asking you to check whether your wrapping paper can be recycled.
The recycling team is encouraging people to do the 'scrunch test,' as only paper that stays scrunched up in a ball can be recycled.
They warn that much of the glossy or laminated gift wrap can't be accepted, along with many ribbons, especially those that are made with wire mesh.
Easy alternatives to wrapping paper include baskets, newspaper, tissue paper, or tins and jars, which can all be recycled.
