A woman from the UK is asking for help finding two police officers from Douglas who saved her life 60 years ago.
Aged just 16, Anne Teresa Anderson arrived on the Island from Dublin in July 1957, unwanted by her adoptive family.
Tipped off by her family, two police officers met her at the Sea Terminal - and after her parents said they didn't want her back, the officers helped her find work in a hotel near the Castle Mona.
Now, she wants to find the duo who helped her start her new life on the Isle of Man.
Anne says the police officers helped her find work and lodgings with a woman called Mrs Rigby who was from the north of England.
Anne stayed at the hotel and saved enough money that summer to move to London.
She's now trying to track down the two officers to thank them in person for their help all those years ago.
An appeal for help's been posted on a Manx police history Facebook page - you can find out more on our website.
