Growing cannabis may not be great for the environment, but it could be done sustainably.
So says Chair of the Island's Climate Change Transformation Board Clare Barber, who was responding to a question for written reply from Rushen MHK Juan Watterson.
He wanted to know if cannabis cultivation - which is energy and water intensive - fit the Island's climate change obligations.
Mrs Barber said although it was problematic, it could use renewable energy and the cannabis industry could sustainably meet its energy and water needs.
