The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it wants to let people camp in a car park outside its sawmill.
It's applied for planning permission to allow two campervans to stay in the car park on Foxdale Road in St Johns.
In a planning statement, a consultant for DEFA also says the department wants to put a catering van at Archallagan Plantation some miles away.
And the planning document from the department also says there are no facilities on the St Johns site such as electric hookups, toilets, or other facilities.
