Calls for better education to help raise awareness of autism

People on the Isle of Man are being offered the opportunity to become more autism aware.

It follows calls for society to be more tolerant and accepting of children with the condition - after fears they are being wrongly labelled as 'naughty.'
 
Sara Mattio is a director of the charity Action4Autism which runs training courses for parents with children on the spectrum.
 
She says she's willing to expand the support available to everyone to raise awareness: 
 
 
One initiative which is helping break down barriers is a new café in Douglas - Boards and Brews is staffed by people connected to the condition; Jenny Brew is the owner:
