Firefighters say reports of a blaze on the Calf of Man at the weekend turned out to be something unexpected.
On Saturday, the Emergency Services Joint Control Room was contacted by a member of the public who said they could see smoke rising from a hillside on the Calf.
However, when firefighters investigated, they found it was actually strong winds blasting water vapour into the air.
On Facebook, the Fire and Rescue Service says it was an understandable mistake which was reported in good faith.
