It's hoped the IoM Cabinet Office will make a statement this week on the recently published census.
The latest document showed a slight increase in population over the past five years.
According to the data, the island's population now stands at 84,069, only 755 more than in 2016.
Ramsey saw a 443 population increase while Douglas saw a fall in residents, down 320 to 26, 677.
