Police are asking business owners to consider reviewing their security processes.
The reminder comes as a 26-year-old man was this week jailed for robbing a newsagent in Douglas.
26-year-old Jamie Christopher Hall was sent down for almost three years after raiding the shop in November 2015 - he made off with a safe containing £990.
Chief Constable Gary Roberts has praised the officers who worked on the case saying they displayed "great detective work".
