The first round of voting for new legislative council members has taken place in the House of Keys this morning.
Phil Braidwood MHK has been elected to the Legislative Council.
He received 20 votes.
Alex Downie was the second person to be voted in by the MHK's. He received 15 votes.
He was first elected into the Legislative Council in 1995. Dudley Butt has also been voted in with 15 votes. Celebrity chef Kevin Woodford chose not to continue with the next round of voting so has missed out on his chance to become an MLC for the Isle of Man. Voting for the last position is taking place now. Alan Crowe was only 1 vote short of the 13 needed in the fifth round.
He is up against George Waft for the final seat. The 7th round result for last place as MLC saw Waft get 7 votes Crowe get 10. The House of Keys have taken a break for lunch.
They will commence shortly in the hope that one of the two remaining gets atleast 13 votes.
