Works on Braddan Bridge have been paused until the start of next week due to the weather.
The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed there will be no weekend closure as previously planned.
It comes as laying asphalt while the ground temperature is so low would risk early failure of the new surface.
There is also heavy rain forecast for the weekend, which is also not suitable conditions.
As a result, the one way system that is currently in place will continue over tomorrow and Sunday.
