Police are advising motorists to leave extra time for journeys and plan routes around roadworks in Ramsey.
Officers say they've spoken to the contractor carrying out works on Bowring Road after complaints from drivers about delays at temporary traffic lights.
The lights favour traffic leaving Ramsey to avoid gridlock at roundabouts and Parliament Square.
Officers say while the work is continuing, people should set out earlier and use alternative routes where possible.
