The Island’s Covid-19 booster vaccination programme is to be expanded to include all adults over the age of 18.
The rollout will continue in age order to give priority to the older population and those in at-risk groups, and will shortly be offered only three months after having a second dose.
Extending the booster programme will take the number of the Island’s population eligible from 50,400 to 62,170.
This decision follows the latest recommendation from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, which has been accepted by the UK, in the response to the Omicron variant.
The Island will also offer 12-15 year olds a second dose after 12 weeks, those 16-17 after eight weeks, and boosters to the immunosuppressed after three months.
The public are asked not to contact 111 asking for their booking to be changed whilst the schedule is reworked as more information will be released soon.
