Bomb disposal experts have carried out a controlled explosion on a World War 2 shell in the north of the Island.
Ramsey coastguards were alerted on Sunday evening after a metal detectorist found the ordnance near Smeale.
A round-the-clock guard was placed around the area until a navy bomb disposal team arrived on the Island yesterday.
They carried out an explosion to make the shell safe.
