Bluetongue virus antibodies have been found in a cattle herd on the Isle of Man, prompting immediate veterinary action.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture have introduced an all-Island Bluetongue Restriction Zone as a precaution.
Signs of the disease include lethargy, facial or tongue swelling, fever, lameness or abortion.
Farmers are being urged to monitor their livestock and report any concerns to DEFA’s animal health team.
