Bishop asks, should we open our doors to refugees?

If we're saying we want to boost the population - why don't we put ourselves forward as a safe haven for Syrian refugees?

That's the question Bishop Robert Paterson is asking Chief Minister Allan Bell in a letter supporting the commitment of Island resources to rehousing displaced people.

It's being suggested that the refugees could be prime candidates for residency here.

As a Crown Dependency, the Isle of Man needs to follow UK immigration policy.
