Dog walkers are reminded to keep dogs on leads at the Ayres through bird nesting season.
The Nature Reserve is an important place for ground nesting species, and any disturbance can lead to eggs and chicks being abandoned.
Government says all dogs must be kept on a lead no more than three metres long in the area from April 1 to the end of July.
Failure to do so could lead to a fine up to £5,000.
