It could take a further six months until the true cost of a election fraud court case is calculated.
That’s according to the Treasury Minister who says final costs concerning the 2012 Douglas East case are yet to be finalised.
Eddie Teare was asked for the figures in Tynwald yesterday by North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson - he wanted to know how much the taxpayer would have to pay.
Mr Teare revealed the assessment of legal aid costs has not yet been completed although the current bill stands at just over £418,000.
The total cost of the trial to date is already over £1 million.
