A restaurant manager who crashed his motorbike after drink driving has been banned from the road.
James David Mason, 48, was over the limit when he came off his Yamaha R1 on June 24.
He crashed at 1.49am outside the Railway Inn in Union Mills and was breath-tested at the scene.
When he failed, he was taken to Noble's Hospital, where a blood sample showed he had 102 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood - the legal limit is 80.
At Douglas magistrates this week, he admitted drink-driving.
Mason's advocate told the court his client worked at the Regency Hotel and his job involved tasting wine for customers, which may have pushed him over the limit.
Mason was fined £900 and ordered to pay £50 prosecution costs.
He was also banned from the roads for 12 months and ordered to take and extended driving test before he gets his license back.
