The Ben-my-Chree will be taken out of service later this month after sustaining damage to its stabilising fin.
It’s believed to be as a result of the boat operating in bad weather.
The Steam Packet Company says the boat still has effective stabilising efficiency using its one remaining fin but for passenger comfort – two are preferred.
The boat will be dry-docked on the weekend of January 17th and again on February 8th.
Until then sailings are set to operate as normal.
