Ben-my-Chree scheduled to have completed dry dock today

The Ben-my-chree is scheduled to have completed its time in dry dock today to commence service as normal with the added help of a full operational second bow thrust.

The vessel that covers the Steam Packet's winter services has been dogged with problems over the past month with the combination of the faulty equipment and adverse weather leading to numerous cancellations.

It will be a welcome relief in the last week before Christmas with more sailings likely to happen with valuable freight able to reach the Island.

It was hoped the ben would be back in action today, however the most recent update on the Steam Packet website says it will not be sailing today, with its tomorrow morning 2.15am crossing also cancelled.

It's not yet known if it's allotted time in the Cammell Laird shipyard has needed to be extended.
