Rowany Golf Club has announced the departure of a beloved member of staff who has been at the heart of the clubhouse scene for some time.
Peter Holt has been running the bar and catering at the clubhouse, having previously served as landlord at The Albert pub, and numerous establishments in the Cumbria area.
He has been described as being a key factor in what has created the friendly club atmosphere that Rowany is famous for, and has been described as having mastered the art of the perfect pint.
He is headed for a well-earned retirement, saying 'it just feels like the right time for my partner and I to spend more time doing things we've been putting off for a number of years.'
As a result of his stepping down the golf club are inviting expressions of interest for someone who may be interested in running the bar and catering services going forward - anyone interested should contact Mike Kewley at mike.kewley@rowanygolfclub.com.
