Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee has been officially marked at a beacon lighting ceremony in Douglas.
Last night, Douglas Borough Council hosted the event, attended by invited guests, members of DBC and the public.
The beacon was lit at the St Ninian’s Church tower - a well-known landmark in Douglas as one of the highest points in the City.
Beacons were lit in each of the capital cities of the Commonwealth to mark Her Majesty's 70 years on the throne, with the Principal Beacon lighting held at Buckingham Palace.
Councill Leader Claire Wells said: ‘We are very proud to recognise and celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s 70 years of selfless service to the Crown; an incredible anniversary in our Patron’s reign.
‘It truly was a privilege to be able to contribute to a unique occasion honouring the Queen, Lord of Man’s accession to the throne,' she added.
