Local charity 'Beach Buddies' is encouraging those further afield to get involved.
It comes following a young boy - Jacob King - visiting from Birmingham and joining volunteers to clean Manx shores.
He collected rubbish with his nannie Maggie Witts (a long-standing Beach Buddies volunteer) and enjoyed himself so much he now wants to spread the message in his local area.
As a result, Beach Buddies appointed Jacob as its first ever "Beach Buddies Young Champion" .
He's now returned to the UK and plans to start encouraging his friends to get involved.
Jacob and his younger brother Lucas were given free litterpickers and the charity itself will travel to Birmingham in the coming months to see how the "Champions" are spreading the word.
The charity adds if you have young relatives or friends anywhere in Britain it would be very pleased to encourage them to become "Beach Buddies Young Champions" and hopefully kick-start a massive nationwide clean-up of the British Isles.
