Giving a neighbour a lift to the shop has landed a banned driver with community service and probation.
Gregor Turley of Drury Terrace in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 44 year old admitted driving while disqualified, taking a car without its owner's consent, and having no tax or insurance on August 3.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the hearing Turley was banned from the roads in 2012 but when his neighbour needed to go to the shop he took his girlfriend's car.
Police stopped him in the car park of the Spar store in Anagh Coar, and the court heard Turley had previously been convicted of the same offence in 2017.
Mrs Hughes ordered him to do 100 hours of community service and spend a year on probation.
